Cardinal Place is a privately managed hostel designed strictly to meet the comfort and style of University, College, and Polytechnic Students as well as Corp Members.

Located at 26 Odu Oku Street, Off Abak Road, Uyo, we are just a 10-minute walking distance from the University of Uyo City Campus and Annex. Managed by an on-site facilities management company, students deal directly with us—no agents required.

Introduction

Cardinal Place is a privately managed hostel designed strictly to meet the comfort and style of University/College/Polytechnic Students and Corp Members, located at 26 Odu Oku Street, Off Abak Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, a 10 minutes walking distance from University of Uyo City Campus and Annex. Cardinal Place is managed by an on-site facilities management company, as such, students do not need agents to help them secure accommodation.

Accommodation Options

Cardinal Place offers two (2) choices accommodation options for Students/Corp Members.

a) Hostel: This option features a Standard size Living Room with 2 Double-bunk beds with mattress, Wardrobe, Wooden Kitchen Cabinet with Marble top finishing, Toilet/Shower which accommodates 4 Students.
b) Apartment: This option features a Standard size Living Room with Wardrobe, Wooden Kitchen Cabinet with Marble top finishing, Toilet/Shower for maximum of 2 Students.

Application Process

To be considered for accommodation at Cardinal Place, you are required to complete an Online Application Form, Upload all required supporting documents and pay a Non-refundable Application Fee.

Before you consider applying for our accommodation, ensure you have the following supporting documents to hand in PDF format for upload as part of the process. Please, note that we are not able to process any application with incomplete or documents that does not meet our requirement and application fee will not be refunded, once started.

a) Character Reference:

Must be issued on organisation’s letterhead (Church/Mosque/College/Polytechnic/University) signed by a recognised Clergy or Lecturer with full names, phone number, active official email address, position in the organisation and clearly states the suitability or otherwise of the named student to be considered for a space in our accommodation.

b) Prove of Student/NYSC Status:

A valid, non-expired Student/NYSC identity card.
A copy of Admission Letter/NYSC call-up letter.

c) Guarantor:

A civil servant of good moral standing not below level 5 to issue letter of guarantee for all forms of loss/damage during the period of tenancy, with full names, phone number, active official email address, position in the organisation and addressed to Management of Cardinal Place
A valid, non-expired Employment identify card
A valid proof of home address document (PHCN bill, Driving Licence, etc.)

Tenancy Rules, Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility & Conduct: The Cardinal Place accommodation is strictly for registered and verifiable University/College students and currently serving NYSC members. Residents must maintain a high standard of personal discipline. Any form of cultism, physical violence, or harassment is grounds for immediate expulsion without refund of any remaining part of rent already paid.

2. Security & Access: Residents must bear their tenant ID cards at all times and present same to security personnel upon request, without which student shall not be allowed entry into the facility by the Security Officer on duty. Gates are locked at 10:00 PM and opened at 6:00AM prompt. Late entries must be justified to the management.

3. Visitors: Visiting hours shall between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM. All tenants shall be required to receive and sign their visitors in and out at the Security Office. No visitor is allowed to sleep overnight.

4. Substance Policy: Cardinal Place maintains strict Zero-Tolerance Policy regarding the use of drugs, smoking (including Vapes/Shisha), and alcohol. Violation results in automatic termination of tenancy with zero refund of rent or deposits.

5. Gathering & Assembly: Gathering of all sorts (religious, social, political, etc.) within the premises is prohibited without express management discretion and 90-day notice.

6. Damage/Stolen Property: Residents are responsible for properties in apartments. If no culprit is identified for damages, costs will be split among all students in that apartment and deducted from the Security Deposit.

7. Key Policy: Room keys must always be left at the designated hanger at the security house when leaving the premises; taking keys off-site is prohibited.

8. Dispute & Request: Tenants are required to use our online Inquiry/Complaint Form to submit all forms of service requests for maintenance.

9. Communication: Official channels include Online Inquiry/Complaint Form, WhatsApp, Telephone, and Email messaging as communicated by management.

10. Declaration & Documentation: Submission of false information/forged documents attracts outright eviction without refund.

11. Utilities & Maintenance: Electricity and water are included in the management fee. Use of heavy appliances (hot plates, heaters, AC in hostels) is strictly prohibited.

12. Cleaning & Sanitation: Residents are responsible for their immediate living spaces. Participation in the State Government monthly clean-up is mandatory.

13. Refundable Security/Damage Deposit: Refundable within 14 days of move-out, provided no damage has occurred and all property/IDs are returned.
